"Ufology"

Somewhere along the line the study of UFOs was termed "ufology." It seems an attempt to lend credibility to the field in the face of it's "pseudoscience" labeling by scholarship. To quote Gregory Feist, an academic psychologist, "because the field lacks a scientific process ufology has not advanced since the 50's." It has however in one sense advanced. From the 70's era ideas of Zechariah SItchin and Eric Von-Daniken it has adavanced into a "replacement theology." I can say without reservation that those who embrace this "theology" have left their 70's rotary dial land lines, carburators and yellow pages information superhighway behind. Sitchin and Van-Daniken presented fun ideas to ponder as we were growing up. If we want to change perception with more than a "logy" attached to UFO we can start by leaving Sitchin and Von-Daniken and their worn out mis-leadings where they belong - in the 70's.
