The Holy Mountain

In the 1950's many people claimed to be abducted by aliens and taken to Mars or Venus. As our data for these planets increased these claims disappeared. A clear example of how this phenom evolves. The evolution continued in the 70's with the help of Erich von Daniken and Zechariah Sitchin and became known as Ancient Astronaut Theory. AAT serves as a "replacement theology" of sorts- AAT is carried by traditions in Cosmology that the average Joe and for that matter the average religious person is unaware of. The Holy Mountain is a worldwide tradition and to the shock of many a Judeo-Christian reality. The Hebrew Garden of Eden story (as well as similar Sumerian and Ancient Near Eastern accounts) of the first Humans is a story of the Holy Mountain or the meeting place of Divine and Human. The Old Test book of Ezekial chap 28 describes Eden as a mountain. The Caananite gods El and Baal as well as the Sumerian - Akkadian gods An and Enlil all had an address- on a mountain. The Holy Mountain tradition is now evolving in pop culture through AAT as the landing place of aliens. (See History Channels' "Ancient Aliens" S6 episode 11 "Aliens and Mysterious Mountains") The ancient tradition was that you ascend to the Gods on the Holy Mountain. This was the motive for the Tower of Babel; the tradition continued in Pyramid/Mound building around the Globe. Like abductions to Mars, the Mountain tradition died and is revived in AAT. There is motive for everything and you can decide for yourself the motive to replace the Divine traditions with an Extra-Terrestrial paradigm.
